Aim and Scope
On 1979 the USA National Science Foundation (NSF) published the important book by Prof. N. R. Amundson of University of Minnesota about the development of Chemical Engineering. Since then Chemical Engineering has been developing on the same directions expected by this study, which are biological engineering, materials engineering ; specially nanotechnology and optical/digital materials, environmental and sustainable development engineering, Maximum Production Minimum Pollution (MPMP), Green Production, bio-fuels/bio-products and minimum energy consumption. Besides, the use of Renewable Raw Materials (RRMs) and their associated novel technologies, novel and efficient waste recycling, as well as food industries and water reservation have been developed as well.  Although experimental and practical research in above fields was highly appreciated, the extensive use of mathematical modeling and computer simulation, optimization have proved to be a very efficient methodology. This Journal is aiming at addressing these subjects, which are mostly multidisciplinary. The Journal is directed towards the above subjects and the interrelations between them so that to be in good correspondence with modern chemical and biological science, engineering and technology and to achieve the development of scientific fundamentals as well as the main objectives of modern industries and markets of different disciplines of the above fields. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the journal papers addressing socio-economical sides of the above subjects are also welcomed.  WEFE is an international, double-blinded, peer-reviewed scientific open access journal. It publishes reviews, regular research papers and short communications.
