April 2021: New trends in fractional calculus and its applications

Aim and Scope:
During the last decades, numerous outstanding efforts have been focused on fractional calculus due to its variety of applications in real-life problems. The footsteps of fractional calculus can be found in various contexts, for example in signal analysis, quantum mechanics, mathematical biology, chaos, elasticity, control, and some other branches of pure and applied sciences. The practical importance of fractional calculus comes from the fact that the associated fractional operators can capture the hidden aspects of real-world systems more accurately than ordinary time-derivatives. As a result, fractional equations have widely been applied to investigate some anomalous still unsolved problems appearing in engineering and sciences. Thus, fractional calculus enables us to face many challenges such as non-integer dimensional problems, scale depending issues, nonlinear phenomena, etc. Consequently, the new trends toward the theory and applications of fractional calculus is a very important research topic that should be investigated, and new approaches need to be developed and analyzed in this direction. Motivated by the above discussion, the aim of this special issue is to report the recent advancement and progress of fractional calculus from both theoretical and practical points of views. The scope of this special issue covers all theoretical and experimental features of fractional calculus as well as their applications. Topics for submissions also include but are not limited to:

- Fractional calculus applications in the real environment
- Generalized fractional derivatives and integrals
- Fractional integro-differential equations
- Fractional ODEs and PDEs
- Fractional control systems
- Fractional stability theory and applications
- Fractional Euler-Lagrange equations
- Fractional bifurcation and chaos
- Discrete fractional equations
- Other relevant topics
