The Dimensions of American Foreign Policy in the Era of Donald Trump

PP: 37-48

Abstract
The assumption of the US presidency by Donald Trump, as a popular figure who entered the US political scene has been represented a pivotal moment in the US foreign policy, in terms of the foundations and terms that control foreign policy-making and its outputs at the global level. It has been shown that Trumps policies reflect a pragmatic approach to allies, having established a US foreign policy that is not tied to any fixed traditional frame of reference. From the realist current, Trump takes the principle of America first, and from the neo-conservative trend, he adopts the use of military force in foreign policy, and from the nationalist trend he believes in the idea of isolationism. The study deals with the events of US foreign policy during the Trump presidency, and redefines the concept of the role towards emerging powers, allies, and the international system. The study ends with a brief review of the repercussions of the challenges facing US foreign policy during the Trump era.
