Abstract
Recently, partially accelerated life testing has become quite important in reliability and life testing studies. This paper discusses maximum likelihood estimation method in step-partially accelerated life tests when the lifetimes of items under use condition follow the exponentiated exponential distribution. Based on progressively type-I censored samples; the point and interval maximum likelihood estimations for the considered parameters and the tampering coefficient are obtained in closed forms. The observed Fisher information matrix is derived to calculate confidence intervals for the considered parameters. The performances of the resulting estimators of the developed model parameters are evaluated and investigated in terms of mean squared errors by using a Monte Carlo simulation method.
