Fe-doped ZnO nanostructured thin films were deposited on gold-coated glass substrates, using electrochemical deposition technique at room temperature for different concentrations of Fe. Structural and optical characterizations were carried out using various techniques, to investigate the properties of the samples. The influence of iron doping on the structural, morphological, stress and optical properties of the films was studied. From the XRD pattern, it is observed that peak positions shift towards lower angles with Fe doping. The change in the peak positions with increase in Fe content clearly indicates that Fe ions replace Zn ions in the ZnO films. XRD patterns and Raman analysis showed that ZnO films suffered a compressive stress for undoped ZnO and changed to tensile stress with increase in the Fe concentration. The growth and doping mechanism was also briefly discussed. |
