The Impact of Job Stress Sources on Organizational Citizenship Behavior

Abstract
The present paper aims to identify the impact of job stress sources on organizational citizenship behavior at Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital staff in Kingdom of Bahrain. Two hundred and seventeen employees were randomly surveyed. The analysis is based on the outcomes of the questionnaire that was distributed to a representative sample of Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital staff in Kingdom of Bahrain. The results illustrated a statistically significant effect of sources of job stress on organizational citizenship behaviors among hospital workers with an impact rate of (43.2%). In addition, the highest dimension of sources of job stress affecting organizational citizenship behaviors of the employees was being responsible towards others, with an impact rate of (28.9%). Role ambiguity ranked the second, with an impact rate of (28.7%). The quantitative role with an impact rate of (21.1%) ranked the third. Furthermore, professional growth and advancement ranked the last, with an impact rate of (17.8%). The study recommends taking particular procedures to improve organizational citizenship behaviors and reduce sources of job stress.
