Abstract
In this manuscript, we propose a transmuted model of the Generalized Inverse Rayleigh distribution. This article provides the detailed account of statistical properties of the new distribution. Different properties like reliability analysis, moment generating function, characteristic function, entropy and order statistics have been derived. The parameters of the newly proposed model have been estimated using the method of maximum likelihood estimation. Both the simulated as well as real life data sets are considered for making comparison between the special cases of TGIRD for the best fit.
